She had her medical education in Ankara Gazi University Faculty of Medicine between 1983 and 1989.
He started his specialty education in Izmir Chest Diseases and Surgery Training and Research Hospital in 1991 and completed in Kanazawa University Faculty of Medicine (Japan) and Ankara Atatürk Chest Diseases and Thoracic Surgery Training and Research Hospital.
Prof. Necla Songur did clinical and laboratory studies with M. Fujimura in the field of asthma and chronic cough. During these studies, she carried out the first experimental studies of some drugs that are routinely used in the field of asthma today, and these studies were published in important international scientific journals.

Dr. Yıldıran Songür has completed his medical education at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 1984. He studied as a resident in the Department of Internal Medicine, Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine. He has had advanced clinical training, and performed molecular biological studies on the fields of endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS), early diagnosis of stomach cancer, pancreas cancer and chronic pancreatitis under Prof. N. Sawabu and Prof. T. Okai in Kanazawa University, Japan where he has been with Monbusho Scholarship of the Government of Japan.
Dr Songur has performed the first large studies on the field of EUS inTurkey, and contributed the expansion and training of the EUS in Turkey.
